Aftercare

We’re with you every step of the way—even after you leave the chair. To keep you feeling supported, you’ll receive a detailed aftercare guide, a direct line for any 'just in case' questions, and a check-in from us at the two-week mark. Your comfort and confidence are at the heart of everything we do.

Post-Treatment Care 

Anti-Wrinkle (BOTOX)

To ensure the best results and reduce the risk of side effects, please follow these aftercare guidelines:

  • Remain upright for at least 4 hours after your treatment.

  • Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours.

  • Refrain from exercise (including yoga), saunas, steam rooms, and hot baths for 24 hours.

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours following treatment.

  • Do not apply makeup for at least 6 hours where possible.

  • Cleanse face gently that evening, without rubbing the treatment area

  • Use a cold gel pack on the area if needed to reduce swelling. Ensure it’s applied gently without putting too much pressure on the skin.

 

What to Expect

  • Mild redness, swelling, or small bumps at the injection site are normal and should settle within a few hours. 

  • Bruising may occur and can last a few days.

  • A mild headache (you can take paracetamol if needed)
    These effects usually resolve within a few days.

 

Results

  • Initial effects may be seen within 3–5 days.

  • Full results typically develop within 10–14 days but may not be seen until 4 weeks after treatment.

  • Treatment can be effective for 4 months.

  • Allow 3 months between treatments. 

 

Important

  • If you experience any unusual symptoms or concerns, please contact us immediately.

  • A review appointment may be recommended 2 weeks after treatment if required.

  • Avoid facial treatments (e.g. micro-needling, facials, massage, laser) for at least 2 weeks.​

Post-Treatment Care 

Dermal Fillers

​To help achieve the best results and minimise side effects, please follow the guidance below:

  • Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours unless advised otherwise.

  • Avoid alcohol for 8 hours

  • Refrain from exercise (including yoga), alcohol, saunas, steam rooms, and excessive heat/sun for 48 hours.

  • Avoid makeup on the treated area for the day of your treatment where possible.

  • Sleep on your back with your head elevated the first night to reduce swelling.

  • Stay well hydrated and avoid excessive salt intake for the first 24–48 hours.

  • Avoid Aspirin, Motrin, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acids for at least 1 week after treatment.

  • Avoid the use of Retinol or similar products for 2 days after treatment.

  • Drink at least 2 litres of water daily for 21 days to prevent lumps and support filler integration.

  • Sleep propped up and use a cold compress to reduce swelling.

 

What to Expect

  • Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, and bruising are common and usually settle within a few days.

  • Some areas (such as lips) may experience more swelling, which can last up to 5–7 days.

  • Small lumps or unevenness may be present initially and typically settle as the filler integrates.

  • The results of the treatment are expected to last between 6 months to 1 year. 

 

Please contact your healthcare practitioner without delay if you experience any of the following after your treatment:

  • Any eye pain or visual disturbance.

  • Discoloured blotches, which may look like a spreading bruise.

  • Skin blanching, which may look like areas of skin whitening.

  • Severe or increasing levels of pain.

  • Pustules and/or blisters.

  • If skin becomes red, inflamed and hot to the touch.

  • If skin becomes increasingly swollen or increasingly itchy

  • Any unusual symptoms

 

Results

  • Results are visible immediately, with final results once swelling has subsided (typically 1–2 weeks).

 

Important

  • Avoid facial treatments (e.g. micro-needling, facials, massage, laser, ultrasounds, peels, facial or micro-dermabrasion) for at least 2 weeks.

  • If you have had any cold sores or oral herpetic infection in the past, any treatment to your face may trigger reactivation.

  • A review appointment may be recommended after 2 weeks if needed.​
